What is the command to use skills?
The command to use your skills is 'use'. Certain skills are targetted while others just target your melee opponent. To use a targetted skill, warning sign for instance, you would need to type 'use warning sign at corpse'. Check each skill's help file, 'help skill <skill name>', for the specific targetting instructions.

I'm supposed to get a certain skill this level, why can't I use it?
When you level in a guild, and recieve a new skill, you must first train in this skill before you can utilize it. In order to train in a skill, go to the guild's training room and type 'train <skill name>'. Note: it costs money as well as experience to train above 60% as a newbie, and to train any % once past newbie levels.

Why does my skill % go down when I put my equipment on?
Bulk can have detremental effects on many skills. You will suffer a penalty for each slot covered by equipment that is of a higher bulk than a certain skill. For instance, skills of the nature category are bulk 2 and will recieve a 4% decrease for each slot covered by bulk 3 armor. Since there is a great per slot penalty as bulk increases, you will recieve an 8% decrease for each slot covered by bk4 armor. Therefore, be mindful of your skill categories and your equipment when relying on certain skills.

Why did my skill % go down when I moved rooms?
If your character is affected by a phobia, it will decrease your skills and spells by 5%. Phobias occur under circumstances specific to the type of fear. For instance, hydrophobia will only effect you when in rooms with a large ammount of water. Not all races are affected by any type of phobia. Check 'help race' in the game, or the race section of the website to see if your race suffers from phobias. Type 'me' to see if you are currently suffering from any phobias.

What are affecting/resisting stats?
Any skill may have any number of affecting and/or resisting stats. Having a high number in any or all of the affecting stats will increase your chance of success with the skill. Conversely, if your target has a high number in any or all of the resisting stats, he/she will have an increased chance of resisting that skill.

What is a skill max?
Each race has a set percentage of a skill max. This is, simply, the maximum percentage you can train any skill. Most races have a very high skill max since skills are used by every guild. Guilds and equipment may give bonuses to certain skills, allowing your total to reach higher than your training maximum.
