Combat

Important Note
BE SURE TO AVOID KILLING CITY GUARDS AND SHOPKEEPERS!
You will get a reputation as a criminal and will be attacked on sight by the appropriate authorities!
Set your wimpy at 50%. It's time to wield your weapons, wear your armor and go out there and kill something! Be prepared to run if you have to, war is heck and it doesn't get easier.

Look for wimpy things to kill, choose your targets wisely: flies, small mammals, small children, dogs, cats, pigeons, snakes, bunnies, butterflies, etc. Then, upon killing it, type get all from corpse. This will allow you to take what was on the monster's corpse.

Important Note
AVOID KILLING THE SAME MONSTERS OVER AND OVER. In the Retroverse, intelligent beings will start to figure out who you are and begin to recognize you when you come in to slaughter them. This means that city guards will arrest you, shopkeepers won't sell to you, and life will generally be very difficult for a mass murderer like yourself. So the key is to move on, and kill other monsters. This is a habit you will need to develop early on. The more powerful you are, the faster you get a bad reputation for slaughtering a particular type of monster. Don't expect to be protected as a newbie either - Keystone City's citizens will be just as pissed at a weak fighter slaughtering their children as they would a high level mage.
You should notice that your experience points went up, and hopefully so did your cash. Use the score and inventory commands to keep trace of your statistics, levels, experience points, and equipment.

Without doubt you will die at some point as a newbie. Death occurs when a monster or spell has pushed your HP (Hit Points, on your prompt) below 0. When you die your character does NOT get erased. To exit death you can either 'pray' or accept a ress from another player. Praying will delete all the experience that you have on you that has not been spent on levels, skills, or spells. To get a ress ask over the channels to get one, you'll see some players offer some. In order accept type 'accept ress from [player]' or 'accept evil ress from [player] at [%age]'. Resses will save you a certain percentage of the experience on you. Ask players for more details about ressing.
